I have found that the perfect substitute for a purpose built Roll cabinet from the 20's is a low boy, also from the 20's but available from most Salvation Army or opp shops for a fraction the cost and easy to deck out with proper shelving. The beauty of these cabinets is that all the aged veneers are available, and I secured the unit pictured for just A$60.
Just a thought, but I might add, it holds over 200 rolls with three drawers for player related paraphenalia...
Regards,
Paul

Hi Paul
I think your 1920's cabinet suits the rolls and the pianola really well. They are even cheaper over here, so I might have a look around. Most of my rolls are in cardboard boxes stacked 3 high - my only concession to their appearance has been to cover them in free wallpaper samples
