Wanted - an 88 note piano.
Dear all, I'm been looking for an 88 note pianola / player piano for some time as a cash purchase. It needs to be functional and to be seen playing before collection. The finish on the case is not too important. I am quite prepared to collect the instrument in a Luton hire van, fitted with a tail lift, although it needs to be within a reasonable radius of home so that I can both pick it up and install it, on the same day, having vetted it beforehand. Please reply by the site mail. Best Regards & many thanks, Peter.

Welcome! This is a global forum, so it will help considerably if you state your country and where 'home' is!

88 note Piano wanted.
Dear all, Forgot all about where I live, not realising that this excellent forum, of course covers more than the UK! I live just north of Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, England. I can probably collect from up to around 150 miles away, return home and install the instrument in one day - perhaps even a bit further for the right one. Best Regards Peter.

Hi Peter, I'm restoring a 1920s Steck at present, which will be offered for sale in due course. It's actually a pedal Duo-Art model, so a bit more versatile than other 88-note players. You mentioned that the casework isn't too important, so this one might be ideal, as the casework is reasonable without being great. Here's a picture of it, taken under the harshest of lighting. If you're interested, please drop me a line and I'll tell you more about it.

88 note half duo art Steck.
Hello Ian, Thank you very much for posting your reply. This one sounds very interesting and as you say a half duo art offers a lot more scope because as far as I know, a half duo art plays both standard rolls and duo art rolls. I also have a good friend, with a lovely Weber duo art grand so there's much scope for borrowing rolls, as well! Look forward to hearing from you in due course. Apologies for not sending this privately, but the private E-Mail system doesn't seem to take messages past the outbox stage. I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction here, if I'm doing something wrong? Best Regards, Peter Clarke

Hi Peter, As far as I know the message moves from the outbox to the sendbox when it's read by the receiver.... so maybe your message hasn't been read yet. (I might be wrong about this however....) greetz from the Netherlands,
