First attempts on YouTube Just got round to posting a couple of bits on YouTube!
One is my at my 6'4" Gotha Steck Pianola playing a roll I made from a MIDI file, of Arno Babadjanian's 'Elegy' - a lovely piece that ought to be much better known. The sound's quite good but the dynamic range has been pretty well much flattened out by the camera.

The other is short clip of Adam at a PPG meeting, showing the close attention that is played to the music at these events.

PS I'm impressed that Daniel spotted this and asked a question within a few hours of it being posted!

Thanks Julian!
I usually try and do a you tube search every 48 hours to see what is new in our field of hobby.
Sometimes i do a search and find the most terrific clip of a piano or player and then it can just suddenly disappear within a few hours or days as the person has either A) Got a bad response and pulls it off ,or B)have changed there mind and got cold feet and removed it.
If and when i see a great clip , i always at least try and let the poster know as even though we may watch 2 or 3 mins and then flick to something else , the poster has spent many hours getting it all right and then editing and not to mention the long download onto the you-tube site.
I feel it doesn't hurt just to say "Thanks" ,"Thankyou" or "Great" all what ever is needed , as a little encouragement goes a long way.
Daniel :)

Julian,
What make of instrument was Adam playing (that was getting him all the attention!)?
A beautiful performance by you and your Steck!

Hi Julian
Despite the Youtube lo-fi, the beautiful tone of your instrument still shines through.
Great playing too - it was seeing you playing a couple of years ago that really inspired me to try and get the best out of this instrument. I had no idea of its potential until I saw those rapid tempo shifts and note by note focus on the roll.
Despite lots of practice -I've got a long way to go to catch up with you :)
Love to see more on Youtube - perhaps something else from Adam as well :?:
Cheers
Neil

Adam was playing a Sherlock & Manning (London, Ontario) piano with a Higel player. A nice-sounding instrument, the player works quite nicely but feels different to Pianolas so takes a bit of getting used to.
(And I don't see what's wrong with the Persian Market either, as long as it's well played!)
I see managed to shrink my Steck by a foot as well.
