An Aeolian player organ - has been converted to play 65-note rolls by the look of the spool box.

65 note push up, in original condition it says...... the finish almost looks to good to be original I think..... what about the rest...
65-note Pianola push-up

yes, the finish is quite original. It's a burr walnut case model. Julian has a similar one I think and I have a player piano with a very luxurious dark burr walnut finish very similar. What gets me is the piano it is playing! An 1890s Steinway PAINTED WHITE & BLUE!!!! AAArgh!!!

This does indeed look just like my never-completed 65-note pushup. Being American these have oil-varnish finishes, which either look good or turn to black globs. They seem to survive in the UK, possibly something to do with humidity and temperature.
The finish isn't burr walnut, actually - it's more interesting, plain walnut with a hand-painted burr pattern done in wood stain. The sort of fancy faux finish that upmarket decorators like, not something often seen on furniture.
What I like about these really early instruments is how the spoolbox and takeup spool all have the same finish as the case. A little later and all Aeolian works were a uniform black.
I agree that the painted Steinway is a strong contender for the tasteless moron decorator of the year award.

If I hadn't yet bought my hupfeld I might have gone for this one, incl. the piano hopefully, gives me something to do ;-)

Just curious does anyone know much about this style of player? , it says "Auto deluxe electric reproducer" on the fallboard.
Thanks Daniel :)

Hi Daniel,
Most Lincolnola models were fitted out with Amphion players. I expect that the reproducing system will be similar to the Recordo system, but that is only a possibility.
If I were buying at the moment and the price didn't rise too high, I would be seriously tempted. Price to ship would be approx: $400
It looks in fair condition, but I would love to see pics of the pump and expression devices.

Hi Paul and thanks...............looking at the air motor , it seems not an Amphion type ,so its another brand.....mmm
PS:have now requested more pics from the seller and will post /share them here.

Your quite right Daniel, looking closely at the air motor and the visible tracking parts, I would suggest almost certainly it's an Autopiano/Standard Player.
Look forward to seeing the extra pics.

Hi Paul , the extra pictures have now been added and its in fact a "Recordo" style player installed.
Daniel :)
Hi Daniel, Thanks for getting him to post those extra pics. The reproducing system is definately Recordo and I think you'll find it actually is an Amphion player.
I must admit the original pics did make it appear to be a Standard/Autopiano. However the lugs on the wind motor cam, are Amphion.
I believe this would be a relatively easy restore with a real quality end product.
