Hi all, There is currently 4 rolls on Ebay Australia for $80A each! Now you may all look at your roll collections with a view to hireing a bank vault to store them :) congratulations to all for your new wealth :) Paul Hello All, I have been away for a few days and just came across the $80A rolls listed on ebay .. but the one that really intrigues me is the xmas roll in a batch of 54 rolls currently for sale that quote"has been cut in two pieces as it originally was to big to play as one" ..... Diane

Hi Diane, People did and do weird stuff, it's true that some spoolboxs cannot cope with the larger medley rolls, particularly the more modern aeolian players. So I'm not surprised. I have one roll that at some point in its career was spliced in the centre with a completely different roll...keeps you on your toes I guess :) Paul

Hi Diane, Greetings from Scotland. Andy

I just love the terminology on this one Quote: "It has lots of black keys and lots of white keys which have turned a shade of yellow. When you push some of the keys a musical sound sometimes responds from inside the big wooden bit." http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Gulbransen-Pianola-needing-some-love_W0QQitemZ270200275550QQihZ017QQcategoryZ16220QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I think the starting bid is a bit high..... please give me some money with the thing and I might consider....

Paul- 01-01-2008

I'm always suspect of anything advertised as 'beautifully solid' does that mean its so totally jammed up it no longer moves? :) Paul

Wow what a buy!
WOW this is an absolute bargin! , i will be buying this one , i cant beleive it is so cheap for something that is over 200 years old!! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/200-Year-old-Antique-Concord-Pianola_W0QQitemZ120207892781QQihZ002QQcategoryZ1289QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem **Again i hope its just a typo error , but that means there would be 3 mistakes all up?**

It's not at all unusual to see piano rolls referred to as 'scrolls' on eBay, but here's a totally new one. How about 'scrawls'?! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250206086013

Adam Ramet- 01-14-2008

A pianola scrawl? Doesn't she mean "metrostyle line" surely? The piano shown is one of those very fine Rachals pianos from the pre-WW1 range of Kastner pianos. The case looks good and there is a copy of the original ad in the Kastner brochure downloadable on my website. It might even be a super rare dual-tracker Kastonome for all we know.... Any fancy enquiring a little more perhaps?

A followup to the roll "signed by Waltz - he is the person who played the roll'... one of the other brands is Imperial Songrecord the song on that roll is Somewhere in France sung by one step. And in one of the seller's other items.. For the brand Super tone deluxe is the song Indian love call sung by fox trot. http://cgi.ebay.com/Antique-Player-piano-rolls_W0QQitemZ280194823041QQihZ018QQcategoryZ2383QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Anyone know? The price is a very reasonable (at least it is in fantasy-land) GBP£9.99.

Nice one Adam How about Rustle of String? The boxes are described as 'a bit worn' - take a look at the picture :o Here are 2 different original Pianola rolls in their original boxes. These ones are : Rustle of String by Sinding http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-VINTAGE-PIANOLA-ROLLS-BOXED-lot-8_W0QQitemZ310017048402QQihZ021QQcategoryZ2383QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1723.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem

Although I sadly neglected to take a screenshot at the time, my favourite ever Ebay auction was for a priceless roll of S'lut d'Amour...
