maybe ask the seller if it's been retubed = maybe they got all the tubes back to front! LOL so you can play just one roll, but you can't rewind as the spool has no slot on that side..... so only one remedy, sell it and buy another one to play your next roll

Another one for the "how much?" category... wonder where he's got the idea how much Triphonola rolls are worth? Or maybe they are, even of Bach choral preludes, a real winner on the pianola. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-ANIMATIC-T-PIANOLA-ROLL_W0QQitemZ130240743844 Julian

Perhaps when this little organ grows up, it'll be a Weber!!..lol http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140251704615&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:AU:1123

I see that it's described as needing "restauration". Does that involve taking it out for a meal?

Paul- 07-23-2008

I think a nice meal and perhaps a little wine could bring out the Antique Pianola in it :) Paul

Another £50 roll (well, OK you get two of them). Bulk standard Hupfeld rolls, normally a fiver for both of them - or am I missing something? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-SET-OF-HUPFELD-ANIMATIC-PIANOLA-ROLLS_W0QQitemZ130243860160QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130243860160&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1308 Neil

Same guy! The Triphonola one is now on offer for half the original price, a mere £25. Maybe I could unload a few Hupfeld rolls at £25 each... But how about a most unusual transposing device? Made "from solid bras" as the seller says. Could be interesting. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Transposing-Device-for-player-piano-or-similar_W0QQitemZ200243976236

This is a new re-cut / exact copy of an original 88 note player piano roll by Artona No.4204. Jerusalem by Parry. And Did Those Feet, in Ancient Times......as sung by Women's Institute Groups....£11 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pianola-Player-Piano-Roll-88-note_W0QQitemZ160269664945 and did those feet in ancient times never pedal this dreadful roll twice either! LOL!

Julian Dyer- 08-13-2008

The original might well be pretty ropy, but the recut is beautifully done... Julian

Adam Ramet- 08-13-2008

sssshh! 8) don't let on or 'fess up you had a hand in this musical crime OK - or unmusical crime perhaps! LOL! pppssssst! is it just a scurillous rumour that Nevin's Rosary on Artona is being recut also? unusual transposing device? Made "from solid bras" When I have in the past encountered solid bras I have always transposed myself very quickly elsewhere.

Adam Ramet- 08-28-2008

yes indeed - it had to happen sooner or later didn't it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CLASSIC-PIANOROLA-ROLLS-11-NOTES-NORMAL-65-ALSO-70-80_W0QQitemZ170255792934

"Box of twelve Edison Bell Pianola Rolls in the orignal box all in god condition. " http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Box-12-Edison-Bell-Pianola-Rolls_W0QQitemZ110286357747 In the words of Oliver Hardy : "I have nothing to say..."

Max Kortlander in drag? Mississippi Moonlight - Autograph Roll - #857 - Waltz - Words by J. Will Callahan, Music by Lee S. Roberts, Played by Lee S. Roberts & Mrs. Kortlander http://tinyurl.com/3s3b22 (Having said that, the real Mrs. Frank Milne (Theodora Edgeworth) met her husband while working as an arranger for the Aristo company, and even made a few handplayed rolls as TED Edgeworth, so gender-bending went on all over the place!)

Adam Ramet- 09-23-2008

we luv it!!!!!!!!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/88-Note-Themodist-Roll-Don-Juan-Wozart_W0QQitemZ200256930823 "88 Note Themodist Roll "Don Juan" Wozart , A very popular classic. A very rare roll Instrumental In Replacement Box. Good condition. " ...and the photo of the leader shows a smudged composer name looking a little like Wozart to possibly the only banana on earth who never heard of er...Mozart.

neil- 09-23-2008

I can't believe it  I thought it must be just a typo, and you were being a bit hard on them Adam But he/she really thinks it is by someone called Wozart. Sort of begs the question how they can call it a 'popular classic', let alone reckon it is a 'very rare roll'! Neil
