Contribute to this forum!!! OK, we have 119 registered members as I post this.
Why is it that the vast bulk of the posts come from 5 or so members?
It's a real shame that the majority of posters are sitting back and not contributing anything.
You may think you 'only' have a single player piano and 30 rolls, or 'don't know anything about how they work', or 'only like the pianola, not those reproducing fancy systems'.
That shouldn't stop you from posting! Why not post about your single player's quirks or features? Your favourite roll and why it's your favourite roll?
Let's get some more life into this forum...

Contribute to this forum Funny, I was thinking the same thing, well nearly the same thing, has any thought been given to a financial contribution to the forum?

well, my restoration work is kind off below zero right now..... as soon as I have some more time I'll do some work and of course post some pictures of that...
for now I just don't have that much to mention....
to be continued....

Well said Robert
I think a lot of people are a little anxious about contributing when there are experts like yourself and Julian (and quite a few others) about.
Al I can say is that I just have one plain ordinary pianola, and I have never felt embarrassed despite my lack of knowledge. Having met Julian and Adam, I know that they are keen to help and support anyone interested in these fascinating machines ( and after listening to obscure 78's until about 2.00am - all kinds of music in general).
I would love to hear from a few others out there - what kind of music do you like, how do you store your rolls, what do your neighbours think about the noise - the list is endless :)

Hi Guys,
I know I haven't been around for a while....!
I met a rather lovely woman late last year so have been otherwise occupied.
She loves my pianola, Norton motorcycle and valve radios so she is a real find!
I have just acquired a Roland Digital piano (for free- some of the keys didn't work) I managed to fix it quite easily with a wee bit of soldering and it now works fine. I am intending to do some midi stuff with it so I can get more voices from it. Either via a sequencer that is currently on ebay or via computer.
Back to my pianola it will be moving home with me probably later this year when I move nearer to Aberdeen. There will be room there for me to do some repairs to it!

Many people add a user account but never even make the first posting. We assume that the forum is however far more widely read than it has regular contributors. All online forums are the same however, MMD included. Just like in real life, some people prefer to listen to others in the room and sit silently, they may just like to listen in, have nothing to say or simply agree with what is being said.
