Chopin Mazurka on Youtube Hi All
I picked up a load of great rolls on the last PPG postbid (24 in total!). One was a rarity from a maker I've never heard of - I'll post some details as I bet Adam knows all about them :!:
The best was 3 of Chopins later Mazurkas opus 68. This is the third - the shor-*test*-('") on the roll. All 3 play really well, and (for once) the themodist lines are actually of some use, as I don't know the piece.
My wife reckons its a bit embarassing, as I look like I'm playing some kind of 'air piano' - but you pianola guys will be understanding :) -after all, as Adam says, who are we doing these for?

Thanks Adam - and Happy New Year to everyone :D
Listening to Radio3 on the way to work last night, tuned in to hear Chopins Mazurka Opus 24 number 2 - fantastic piece, must try and find a roll. I've always been dissapointed by my efforts to play Chopin - nocturnes, ballades etc. These Mazurkas with their quirky rhythms seem a much better bet.
The programme was called 'At the Piano', on at 5pm all week interviewing pianists discussing favourite pianists - well worth a listen. Last night was Stephen Osborne. I only caught the last 20 minutes or so, but will listen to the rest on the BBC website.
His discussion on Schuberts Moment Musicaux number 2 - a particular favourite of mine - was fascinating - now I know why I can never get it to sound any good, and yet it seems like a really simple piece.
Cheers
