Brahms Opus56 on YouTube Hi All
After my discussions with Adam about piano transcriptions, I thought I might post something a little relevant on YouTube.
Brahms Haydn variations is very well known as an orchestral piece, but Brahms wrote an amazing version for piano duet. I don't know how much it was reduced to make this 4 hand version, but it still works pretty well.

Sorry about my annoying mannersims, but I guess it makes a change from flicking a switch like most clips on YouTube :)
This guy does a nice job - shame again about the acoustics and recording quality, which are even worse than mine.

It seems that Op.56b is Brahms' own reduction for 4 hands 2 pianos with 56a being the orchestral alternate version. Help is on hand as the wonderful Public Domain online sheet music library IMSLP just came back online 3 days ago after being off the net since October due to copyright related complications - now resolved!
A copy of the 2-piano Brahms score for this is :
http://imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/6/6a/IMSLP08150-Brahms_Haydn-variations_2pianos.pdf
and I encourage anyone interested in classical music generally to view the site again and have a trawl through at :
http://www.imslp.org
as to whether there was a 4hand 1 piano version of this piece done from which the roll was programmed : quite likely but it's not yet in the IMSLP library - perhaps Google it or check somewhere like the British Museum Library central online catalgoue.
